最新萝莉社鈥檚 Information Technology Services has raised email quotas to 4GB for all 最新萝莉社 staff.
The move puts 最新萝莉社 at the forefront of Universities around the world that host their email 鈥渙n premises鈥�, rather than use cloud-based solutions.
Associate Director of Information Technology Services at 最新萝莉社 Ian Duncan said this move had put 最新萝莉社 staff well ahead of the curve internationally.
鈥淥xford has 2GB quotas while Princeton, Cambridge, and Melbourne Universities all have 1GB,鈥� he said.
Mr Duncan said that the increased quota was part of a much larger upgrade of 最新萝莉社鈥檚 exchange email system.
鈥�30,000 mailboxes were upgraded in total,鈥� he said.
鈥淲ith four emails received and sent at 最新萝莉社 every second this was no small task."
鈥淭he upgrade gives new collaborative services and greater ability for users on all computing platforms to access 最新萝莉社鈥檚 email and calendars.鈥�
Mr Duncan said that 最新萝莉社 had long been at the forefront of information technology in Queensland.
The first computer in the state was installed on the St Lucia campus in 1962.
He said it was hoped this latest move would facilitate better communications for staff, researchers and academics in their day-to-day activities.
